In an interview with the Mehr News Agency on Tuesday the chief prosecutor of the Supreme Iraqi Criminal Tribunal (ISCT), Jaafar al-Mousavi, said there is evidence to suggest that the MKO had a hand in murdering Iraqi citizens. Al-Mousavi stated that an arrest warrant has been issued against 150 MKO members including ringleaders Maryam Rajavi and Mas?oud Rajavi.
Iraqi Intelligence Minister Sherwan Alvaeli said some European countries have announced their readiness to host agents of the terrorist Mujahideen Khalq Organization.
The MKO has been labeled as a terrorist group by the US State Department, the British government and the European Union states. Iran-Interlink is a non-governmental consultancy organization that renders support to members who have abandoned MKO and their family.
Iraqi Prime Minister Nuri Al-Maliki said that from the beginning Iran accepted the new situation in Iraq and established political ties with it, and “this is laudable“.In an interview with the international Jaam-e Jam TV Network, Maliki added that these are important steps and Iraqi politicians must praise Iran’s standpoint, because these steps can help establish strong and sound bilateral bonds, IRNA reported.
An eminent Iraqi lawyer said that existence of Mujahedin Khalq Organization (MKO) in Iraq is unlawful, said IRNA. Tariq Harb, head of the ‘Population of Disseminating Law Culture in Iraq’, told the Baghdad-based weekly of Al-Shahed that according to the domestic, international and foreign non-governmental laws, existence of MKO in Iraq is illegal.
