According to a report released by ASSOCIATED PRESS, two Iranian diplomats detained by American troops in Iraq on false allegations were released early Friday.
Following the detention of the two Iranians, Maryam Rajavi, the head of the terrorist MKO, on Thursday had claimed that the two Iranians were senior members of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards and had coordinated attacks against coalition troops and Iraqi civilians. She cited the group’s intelligence officials as the source of the information.
The American forces released the two because it was not possible to verify Rajavi’s allegations, made Thursday in a phone interview from Paris. Her allegations, the total product of the group’s propaganda machine, are mostly aimed to escalate the tension and to worsen the situation to advance the group’s objectives.
