MEK is also active under a variety of other pseudonyms known as MKO; Mujahedin-e Khalq; Muslim Iranian Students’ Society; National Council of Resistance; National Council of Resistance (NCR); Organization of the People’s Holy Warriors of Iran; The National Liberation Army of Iran (NLA); The People’s Mujahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI); National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI); Sazeman-e Mujahedin-e Khalq-e Iran.
I was proud and I said to myself that”finally, we have a powerful government that respects itself and the people; a government that is able to make decisions in order to get rid of Saddam’s remnants. Saddam gathered elements of MKO to occupy our country and gave them privileges,
The main reason was that Saddam wanted to change human structure of Iraq while Shiites and Kurds comprised more than 80 percent of Iraqi population. After revolution in Iran and closure of US and Israeli embassies in Tehran, Americans thought of coup in Iran in order to compensate their failure.
EU’s reasons for calling MKO a terrorist group, which will be published soon, strips MKO from the chance of taking advantage of maneuvering over this law itself. Although, they are ready to interpret this law as a victory for the group to boost the morale of group’s desperate members.
In a joint press conference with his Iranian counterpart Manouchehr Mottaki, Zebari said,”Iraq government has set up a committee to uphold the decision.” He said,”We have negotiated with several European countries to settle the expelled MKO members.”
The Rajavi cult which was responsible for the assassination of Americans in Iran during the reign of the Shah, has openly admitted to killing innocent civilians by the use of mortars and bombs in crowded places in Iranian cities. The number is believed to be in excess of 16,000. The armed terrorist cult had also been engaged in the massacre of the Iraqi Kurds
Talking to the Iraqi daily”Al Motamar”, Mr. Al Moosavi said that the investigations against the terrorist group (MKO or Rajavi cult) has not yet started but he emphasised that”in order to start the judicial process, the prosecution office has started gathering information against the accused”.
.. MKO could never be considered as a potential political faction to steer Iran in its political career neither before nor after the Iranian revolution….All they did before the revolution was scanty terrorist operations against Shah’s agents and the American businessmen and military advisors inside Iran as well as a number of their estates. What they did after the revolution proved that they could never be trusted as a political weight to have any role in Iran’s ruling hierarchy.
Now the Iraqi government is intensifying its efforts to evict the 3,800 or so members of the group who live in Iraq, although U.S. officials say they are in no hurry to change their policy toward the MEK, which has been a prime source of information about Iran’s nuclear program.
Angelika Beer briefly explained the reason why MKO is absent. She said that”since MKO are known as a terrorist group and their name is among EU terrorist list therefore , they are prevented for attending the assembly.”Followed by Angelika Beer, Michael Matison read a report on legal rights in EU Parliament. Then Senator Josie Doubie shared his personal experience visiting the Camp Ashraf . He mentioned MKO is a cult group by the definition of the cult.
