Amman government considered MKO a terrorist group

Mottaki noted that Iran’s envoy to Jordan was invited to the Jordanian Foreign Ministry to be informed that the Amman government considered the MKO as a terrorist group and did not support it. The Jordanian Foreign Ministry also announced that Jordanian MPs’ move was personal and is not confirmed by the government of Jordan, added Mottaki.”The Jordanian parliament speaker announced that Jordan does not confirm such a move,”said Mottaki. Mottaki said that as a result of Iran’s reaction, independent Jordanian dailies called the move”wrong”.

Iran Protest Letter Circulated at UN

Iran’s representative to the UN, Mohammad Khazaei, in a letter to Ban Ki-moon and the Security Council, had condemned a decision by London to remove the MKO from its list of terrorist organizations. In the document, which was circulated in the General Assembly and the Security Council on Thursday, Khazaei asserted that there is clear evidence that the group, which is guilty of many bloody terrorist attacks in Iran for 30 years, was (also) involved in a series of terrorist activities since 2003, IRIB reported.

Iran mulls repatriation for MKO members

Hasan Kazemi-Qomi said,”Apart from their criminal leadership, many members of this little group [PMOI / MKO/MEK] are repentant and regretful. In the past couple of years we have witnessed a number of them repatriated and returned to their families. What they explained is a picture of dejection and suffering. Many have endured hardship and they would have taken any opportunity to remove themselves from this grouplet earlier had it been available. Currently, many of them those who were duped and are repentant, would like to return to Iran and we would have to review this matter.”
