Why has the US government, which denounces other governments’ involvement with terrorism, been supporting MKO (Mojahedin Khalq Organization) and removed it from its list of the designated FTO? How the US chooses to use the group’s violent and terroristic capacity, especially when it still has a historical falling out with Washington ..
In this scheme of things, an enemy’s enemy becomes a friend. Thus, it is not surprising that Rohrabacher also happens to be one of the chief supporters of the Mujahedeen-e Khalq (MEK) aka MKO/PMOI, a cult-like Iranian group with Islamist-Marxist leanings that is a bitter enemy of the Islamic Republic. In October, the US State Department took the MEK off its list of terrorist organizations. ..
Israel’s Mossad and MEK have collaborated on terror attacks inside Iran and have worked together on assassinating Iran’s nuclear scientists. The MEK, short for Mujahideen e-Khalq, a violent Iranian militant group, is listed by the State Department as a terrorist organization, although Bush-era neocons have worked to change this designation.
“The US government’s decision to take Mujahedin-e Khalq, the exiled Iranian organization, off its list of terrorist groups is a vivid example of the influence of money and lobbying in Washington. At worst it highlights the analytical fog that clouds many US policy heavyweights’ view of Iran.”
MEK is led by the husband-and-wife team of Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi. Massoud Rajavi heads the organization’s military forces. Experts say that MEK has increasingly come to resemble a personality cult that is devoted to Mr. Rajavi’s secular interpretation of the Koran and is prone to sudden, dramatic ideological shifts.
The opposition has lost much of its aura in Iran.”The People’s Mojahedin are opponents in exile and have lost all legitimacy in Iran since the episode of the war with Iraq, where they conducted operations against the Iranian army,”explains Thierry Coville. The”Iranian public opinion far from considering them as opponents see them as traitors.
This week saw two separate but equally important events which cut’s to the core of this debate. The first important event is the ruling of the European court of human rights ruling, that Abu Hamza Al-Masri should be extradited to the United States. Abu Hamza stands accused of trying to set up a terrorist training camp…The second important event has been the de-listing of the People’s Mujahedin of Iran (MKO or MEK)
There are credible reports, indicating that MKO/MEK/PMOI members have received considerable amounts of money, military training and equipments from the states which are hostile to Iran and fear of its growing influence in the Middle East, including the United States, Israel and Saudi Arabia. ..Seymour Hersh revealed that how the U.S. government has furtively supported the MKO terrorists..
..But make no mistake, this organization [MKO/MEK/PMOI], all the evidence, all the circumstances, the verdict rendered in the court system whether in the United States or around the world, they know exactly these entities, the blood on their hands. It is a shame on the United States.
The irony is that Maryam Rajavi shows off as a highly pro-democratic leader in all her speeches. However, the dark terrorist background of the cult declares that she never thinks of people. After the closure of Iranian Embassy in Canada, Rajavi in accord with Netanyahou never regarded numerous problems that may occur for the large number of Iranian immigrants in Canada.
