An Iranian woman sets herself alight outside of the French embassy in London. She sacrifices her life for the freedom of her leader, Maryam Rajavi, after her arrest by the French police on terrorism and fraud charges. She is one of at least ten members of Rajavi’s Iranian resistance group, the Mujahedin Khalq, who set themselves on fire in protest at the treatment of their adored leader

On February 9th, 2010 in a debate in the House of Lords of the UK Parliament on the case of Camp Ashraf, Iraq, Barroness Falkoner of Margavine asked her colleague if the Minister will confirm that these people are not non-protected persons under the Geneva Convention. Baroness Kinnock of Holyhead responded [to] the question by insisting that”any claim to protected persons status by Camp Ashraf residents under the Fourth Geneva Convention has ceased to apply.

As Camp Ashraf is the symbol of MKO’s existence and so –called ideology, losing Ashraf equals the loss of MKO leaving Iraq means accepting a huge strategic mistake that the ideological leader made 30 years ago. They were ordered to lay down in front of vehicles driven by Iraqi Police when they raided Camp Ashraf on July 28th. They were told to sacrifice themselves to keep the Camp.

Zuhairi claims the MEK killed rebel Iraqis and left their bodies in the street. He calls them”terrorists.”… Refuge in Iraq came at a price, though.
