The MKO’s first attempt to create a military spectacle the same as Fedayan’s daring operation of Siahkal failed. The group planed to disrupt the 1971 celebrations surrounding the 2500th anniversary of the Persian monarchy. In fact, although it was an attempt to win the control and leadership of the armed struggle, but the armed strategy in itself was in no way justifiable.

As expected the terrorist Mojahedin-e-Khalq showed a knee-jerk reaction to Mahan Abedin’s interview with Masoud Banisadr at iranefshagar website.
Here is Mr. Abedin’s comment on the MEK reaction:

it’s crystal clear that this option addresses the West, and particularly the US. In fact, this strategy requires the US to do what MKO orders. It doesn’t say what would happen if the US rejects the group’s requests. As usual, Iranian people have been omitted from this equation. As far as I know, the strategy of an independent revolutionary group should be based on what it does, not what others can do ..
Mojahedin-e khalq held a rally in New York but the number of the participants was so small that there was no report or photo of it on different websites of Mojahedin; only one website gave a brief report on the gathering….42 members and supporters of terrorist organization of Mojahedin-e Khalq gathered in front of United Nations building in New York on April 28.
Political sources of Al-Shahid reported of the interferences of terrorist MEK in Iraq elections.”Members of this organization spend a lot of money to change the process of the elections,”a source said.
This source, who has important evidences and documents on this group’s interferences in Iraq elections, added:”….this organization also asks for the cancellation of some paragraphs from the constitution. Interferences of this group in Iraq’s internal affairs show ugly face of this group, that wants destabilization of Iraq.”…
… Helping this group is illegal since it has been listed as a terrorist organization. Therefore, Mojahedin-with the assistance of their representative, Ali Safavi- have employed three American public relations companies in order to make contact with Republican’s and ask for the removal of the group from terror list.
